Kandace Creel Falcón and Guaranteed Income

We are so excited to share work by Kandace Creel Falcón! Kandace’s work was previously exhibited with Midwest Nice Art’s in our place show. We love to see how artists explore ideas of the rural; Kandace is working with Springboard for the Arts to show the importance of guaranteed income for artists. This is an exciting prospect and so essential in our increasingly visual world. Kandace will be speaking about the work at an artist talk at the billboard site May 4 at 10am. Congrats Kandace + Springboard for the Arts!

From Springboard for the Arts:

Kandace Creel Falcón is a member of Artists Respond: People, Place, and Prosperity, a cohort of artists across Minnesota who are creating public art projects inspired by Guaranteed Income. Kandace recently unveiled a billboard along MN County Highway 210 inspired by their very own goat herd that encourages people to learn more about Guaranteed Income and theimportance of "tending to the herd."

Kandace lives in the rolling hills of Erhard, MN with their wife, three goats, ten chickens, two dogs, and three cats. "Our goats have taught us many lessons on freedom. Instead of trying to keep them confined, we have learned it’s much better to fence in what we would like protected," says Kandace. "Guaranteed Income has allowed me financial freedom by providing a stable and reliable source of funding that sustains my work as a full-time artist."

The billboard is currently on view on MN County Highway 210 East between Wahpeton, ND and Fergus Falls, MN. Kandace's original painting is currently on view at Springboard's Fergus Falls office. Read more about the project on Kandace's website.
