the divine is our Winter 2024 online juried exhibition hosted on our virtual gallery. the divine seeks artworks that explore the ritual, spirit, and ideologies that direct our art practice. We invite artists to explore guiding belief systems through their art. Artists create based on their interpretations of the world, focusing on what they find essential, and the studio is a ritual in that practice. Consider the ways you explore this in your art.

The exhibition will examine these ideas through a variety of mediums in art. Any mediums are welcome, including but not limited to photography, sculpture, painting, collage, digital design, video art, installation, ceramics, performance art…anything you can think of, include it! You may submit up to 3 artworks for a $5 fee, due November 20, 2024. Artists will receive a notification a week after the deadline. The exhibition will go live on December 1, 2024.

our juror for the divine is Jeff Smudde. Jeff Smudde is an artist in the South coast of Massachusetts originally from central Illinois using digital and analog photographic processes and sound. His work focuses on perceptions of place through media of photo books, series and installations. He received his Master of Fine Art at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in 2023 as a Distinguished Art Fellow and his Bachelor of Art from Illinois State University in 2019.
